| Seeking Recommendations For Documentary On Fair Food |
|
June 6, 2008 The California Institute for Rural Studies and Rick Nahmias Photography are collaborating on the production of a multimedia presentation promoting a food system offering more just conditions for agricultural workers in the US. The presentation’s goals are to increase awareness of the realities of farmworker conditions and inform viewers about how they can support a more fair food system. This 10-12 minute presentation will consist of three segments highlighting the current reality of farmworker conditions; farms that are making a difference by providing just farmworker conditions; and market-based efforts promoting equitable conditions for farmworkers. We’ll be conducting site visits throughout the US during the summer and fall of 2008 to document these issues and are seeking recommendations for individuals, farms and organizations to include in this presentation. We would appreciate any referrals to potential interviewees that can help illustrate current farmworker conditions, farms with positive labor conditions and individuals or organizations working to promote a more fair food system. Please send your recommendations to Rick Nahmias ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) or Ron Strochlic ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ). Please feel free to distribute this to your networks.
